Where are you going to work?

As site manager you will manage our factories in Poperinge and Proven and you are part of the Aviko Operations Team, this is an international team where experience and best practices are shared.  

You ensure an efficient production organization at the Belgian subsidiary through continuous improvement. In addition, you will work on further building an engaged team, that has a "can do” mindset regarding. This ensures that production is on time and meets quality standards at minimal cost. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer, who is based in the Netherlands and manage a site with approximately 400 employees (all employees at Poperinge and Proven). You have direct lines with the Plant manager Proven and Management team Poperinge (Production Manager, Manager Logistics, Maintenance Manager, Quality, SHE and TPM). Next to that you have dotted lines to Finance, Controlling, HR and Projects.  

What will you do?

  • Leading the Aviko Belgium production sites (Proven & Poperinge). Building a coherent and motivated team focused on safety, quality and performance 
  • Preparing Poperinge for the implementation of another full production line (approx. 80 FTE) 
  • Building an efficient organization through continuous improvements, providing guidelines, and supervising execution and projects 
  • Developing and aligning the annual business plan (including budget) and investment plan with Aviko's strategy, focusing on optimal production results in terms of quality, quantity, timely completion, and cost 
  • Translating and communicating Aviko's strategy and its relationship to the mission, vision, and values, clarifying actions needed to implement this strategy, and motivating people to commit to the mission, vision, and values 
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders, including acting as the point of contact for local authorities and other relevant institutions and entities. 

What do you bring?

  • Relevant work experience, preferably in a similar industry, with at least a university-level education and thinking ability 
  • Excellent knowledge of the English, Dutch and preferably French verbally, or willing to learn French 
  • Leadership: An excellent people manager with proven track record of successful implementation of operational excellence by inspiring and motivating our people, based trust and respect 
  • Change management: A people-centric and proactive approach to change management, where change is seen as an opportunity for growth, improvement and development 
  • A person with a good sense of humor, who can take a step back, listens to others, accepts different opinions, and is self-aware. Cooperative and able to build bridges 
  • Analytical skills, taking initiatives and practical action
